Teriyaki Chicken

Cooking up this delicious teriyaki chicken for dinner!!!
But first... let’s talk about Teriyaki Sauce.
“The origin of teriyaki is believed to have actually come from America. Researchers have found that the first teriyaki sauce ever made was in Hawaii thanks to the Japanese people that immigrated there."
Sometimes we crave Japanese food and so here we have a twist for a delish hint of sweet and savory Chicken Teriyaki accompanied with simply cooked cauliflower. We smother the knife cutting the cauliflower with sauce made from taste of Gurage Berbere – a real amazing fusion!
This Easy Teriyaki Chicken is perfect lunch or dinners, and has the most delicious savory flavor!

You'll need:
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 Tbsp. Mirin
2 Tbsp. Saki
3 Tbsp brown sugar
4 Tbsp water
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
2 Tbsp cooking oil, divided
2. Tbs. Taste of Gurage Berbere
2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken thighs
Small head cauliflower

1. Stir soy sauce, Mirin, Saki, brown sugar, water, garlic, ginger,
and 1 Tbsp of the cooking oil in a bowl.
2. In a small cup add 3 table spoons of water and the taste of Gurage Berbere Spice for the Cauliflower side.
3. Place the chicken in a bowl, pour marinade over top. Turn the chicken and make sure it's well coated. Let the chicken marinate for 40 minutes or longer to one day (refrigerated), turning the chicken occasionally as it marinates.
4. Heat the remaining 1 Tbsp cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken, discarding the remaining used marinade.
5. Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until cooked through and the liquid in the skillet has reduced to a light coating of glaze on the chicken.
6. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing & serving.
7. Hand separate the cauliflower and bring to boil for 5 minutes.
8. Let it cool off and drain completely – dip a knife in the mixture of cup with taste of Gurage and cut the cauliflower (dip each time you make a cut) and serve with your Chicken Teriyaki.
It’s an amazing fusion while keeping each taste’s integrity! 😋
