Taste of Gurage Oysters
The most decadent way to enjoy your Memorial Day is with our Taste of Gurage spice blend... this grilled oysters recipe!!!
Inspired by a “Master Cook” recipe with our twist, you'll need:
-1 dozen shucked oysters
-4 tablespoons butter
-1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
-1 teaspoon Taste of Gurage Berbere
-1 tablespoon lemon juice
-1 tablespoon parsley chopped fresh
-½ teaspoon Saba’s Awaze Sauce Original
Instructions:
First, heat the grill to high heat - about 450°-500°.
Scrub the oyster to remove any mud or grit and rinse under cool water and set aside.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter and add the Worcestershire sauce, taste of Gurage Berbere Spice, lemon juice and parsley - stir to combine and remove from heat.
Place the oysters flat side up on the hot grill (you don't want the oyster liquid to escape - make sure the rounded side is resting on the grill grates).
Cook on the grill for 3-4 minutes.
Arrange the oysters on a platter and spoon one teaspoon of the butter sauce over each oyster.
Garnish with a few drops of Saba’s Awaze Sauce Original & enjoy!
